Technology Transfer Office   The Technology Transfer Office of the Freiburg University (ZFT) is the interface between the university medical centre and the university of Freiburg and the economy.

Research

Academic Society in Freiburg im Breisgau [de]   The Academic Society supports all kinds of scholarly endeavors and recognizes outstanding scientific achievements with a yearly award.
Databases   The databases on the Regional Database-Information Baden-Württemberg (ReDI) network are available to all students and employees of the university.
Freiburg Research Services   The Freiburg Research Services Office (FRS) supports researchers of the University of Freiburg, from students planning to pursue a doctoral degree to established professors, in all matters concerning research funding.
Friends of the University of Freiburg Association   The Friends of the University of Freiburg Association promotes exchange between international student groups and supports excursions within the context of courses.
Open Access   If you decide to publish your research findings in an open access journal, you can receive a reimbursement for the publication costs from the university's the open access publication fund
Research database   The central research database includes the research protocols and publication lists of all institutes and institutions of the university as well as data on faculty members, research projects, publications, and theses in your field.
Strategy and Development   This office works out concepts for higher education development under the authority of the rector and supports the Rectorate in identifying and implementing long-term strategic goals. It also monitors central, strategically relevant research structures (such as measures of the Excellence Initiative) and sees to it that they are integrated permanantly into university structures.

Arnold Bergsträsser Institute for Socio-Cultural Research   The Arnold Bergsträsser Institute for Socio-Cultural Research is engaged in fundamental research on the most important developments in the society, culture, and politics of oversees countries. It also engages in applied research and offers political advising, especially in questions of developmental cooperation.
Carl-Schurz-Haus   The German-American Institute, which has been called the “Carl-Schurz-Haus” since 1969, is a bi-national institution dedicated to promoting mutual understanding and friendship between Germans and Americans.
Center for French Studies   Founded in 1989, the Center of Interdisciplinary Studies and Research on Contemporary France at the University of Freiburg is the first university institution in Germany dedicated exclusively to instruction and research on France.
Fraunhofer Society   The Fraunhofer Society has four institutes in Freiburg in the engineering fields applied solid-state physics, high-speed dynamics, physical measurement techniques, solar energy systems, and mechanics of materials.
German Folk Song Archive [de]   The historically valuable and unique holdings of the "German Folk Song Archive" include a variety of collections on folk, traditional, and popular songs. The archive has been maintained and researched continuously for the past 100 years.

Dual Career Service   The Dual Career Service supports spouses and partners of new employees in top academic, administrative, and technical positions who need help organizing their move or finding work.

Family service [de]   The Family Service Office creates reliable structures for improving the compatibility of career and family and provides information on child care services and family-friendly infrastructure.
Faults services   The faults services of the Main Technical Office offer help with technical problems and defects.
Guest lectures [de]   The university has funds set aside to invite guests to give lectures on topics of special interest. Each of the faculties is allowed to invite a certain amount of guests to give a lecture each year.

Research sabbatical [de]   The term “research sabbatical” refers to the prerequisites and procedures whereby professors are granted temporary leave from their teaching and administrative obligations with no cut in pay in order to work on a specific research project.
Service A-Z (Central Administration)   The area "Service A–Z" (previously "What Is...?") on the Central Administration portal includes detailed descriptions of services and procedures and information on special administrative topics.

Teaching appointments [de]   In order to extend their course offerings, the faculties can receive permission from the administrative board to grant special teaching appointments to persons who have the appropriate education, ability, and professional skills for specific courses they wish to offer.
Unicard   The Unicard serves as a student or staff identity card, as a debit card for cafeterias and other university institutions, and as a key to access certain rooms and machines (e.g., copiers). In addition, it is also used to manage student data (address, semester registration, exams, etc.).
University Library   The website of the University Library includes important information on performing library searches and checking out books.
Visiting scholars   All important information on visiting scholars is located on the website of the Welcome Service of the Internatioinal Office.

Promotion

Honors and awards   The Representative of the rector for Honors and Awards informs and advises the students, staff, and faculty of the University of Freiburg on research awards, research stipends from the federal government, the state, the German Research Council, and endowments.
Research promotion programs of the European Union   The EU Office provides information on the research promotion programs of the European Union.
SSC - Science Support Centre   The Science Support Centre provides postdoctoral researchers at the University of Freiburg (except for those in the field of medicine) a full range of advising and support in all phases of planning and applying for external research funding.

Collections

Coin Collection of the Department of Ancient History [de]   The coin collection of the Department of Ancient History encompasses around 14,000 coins, most of them from the Roman Empire.
Historical Collections [de]   The historical collections include the manuscripts, autographs, early printed books (primarily incunabula and books from the 16th and 17th centuries), rare books (historical books printed before 1900 and modern books that are rare, valuable, or worthy of protection), and papyri of the University Library, as well as its art collection and the holdings of the Geological Archive.
Social Movements Archive   The Freiburg Social Movements Archive has collected books, newspapers, magazines, brochures, flyers, photos, posters, banners, protocols, and other statements and relics from the new social movements.
Special Literary Collection [de]   The Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures is building up a special collection titled "Women and the Image of Women in Russian Culture" under the direction of Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Cheauré.
Uniseum (university museum)   The Uniseum provides a more in-depth introduction to the history of the University of Freiburg with a variety of exhibits.

Information from the Recreational Sports Program   The Recreational Sports Program offers sports for all students and staff members of the university. The general public is also welcome to take part.
Staff dining hall in the Haus zur lieben Hand   The university staff dining hall in the “Haus zur lieben Hand” offers homestyle cooking at moderate prices.
