Faculties
On its founding in 1457 the University of Freiburg comprised the faculties of theology, law, medicine, and humanities. Over the centuries, the number of faculites increased to 15. However, as a result of a restructuring in 2002 the University of Freiburg is now organized into the following 11 faculties:

- Faculty of Engineering
